From The Writers Museum to The Museum of Childhood, there are a ton of museums and art galleries—99 in total. Make sure to visit Camera Obscura, a museum filled with amusing optical tricks that the whole family will enjoy.

Bath, the only city in the UK to receive UNESCO World Heritage status, is well known for its waters. Choose from over 193 tours and explore the city’s history by walking where the Romans once walked.

There are 41 museums and galleries to explore, ranging from the Herschel Museum of Astronomy to Mary Shelley’s House of Frankenstein. The Theatre Royal Bath, one of the nation’s oldest and most storied theaters, is a must-see during the half-term holidays when it is showing The Tiger Who Came to Tea.

Thanks to its setting overlooking the Menai Straits, Bangor is the ideal city for a family vacation because it offers some of the most breathtaking views in the UK.

The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales and the Castles and Town Walls of King Edward are two UNESCO World Heritage sites that are close to the small but mighty city. Bangor is also well-known for its Garth Pier, the second-longest pier in Wales and the ninth-longest pier in the British Isles.

Oxford

Oxford

Oxford is one of the UK’s most culturally diverse cities with 21 museums and art galleries and 219 tours. The university is the most well-known attraction in the area, and you can tour it with your family.

Don’t miss the Bodleian Library, which has hosted luminaries like Nobel Prize winners and C.S. Lewis among other great minds. Fans of Harry Potter can take a tour of some of the movie locations, including Christ Church College, which served as the model for Hogwarts’ great halls.

Sarah Pring, Digital PR Manager at holidaycottages.co.uk, said: “With the Easter half-term holidays coming up, many families will be looking for a new adventure and knowledge to discover. With so much cultural heritage up and down the country, it can be difficult to narrow down exactly where that adventure will be, but we hope our research has provided some inspiration for families this Easter.”
