Organ Pipes National Park is a unique and beautiful protected area located to the west of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Visiting Organ Pipes National Park

History of Area
The Woiwurrung Aboriginal people are the traditional owners of the land around Organ Pipes National Park.
The Keilor Plains was then turned into farmland for around 140 years and was used to grow wheat, oats and barley up till the 1940s. Various families farmed the Organ Pipes area until 1972. The last owner of the land was E. A. Green. After his death, the land was donated to the Crown by the trustees of the E. A. Green Charitable Foundation and turned into Organ Pipes National Park in 1972.
Organ Pipes
From the car park, you will have to take a path down to the bottom of the valley where the Organ Pipes rock formation can be found. The columns of basalt were formed by a long gone volcano. It located beside the idillic Jackson Creek.
Rosette Rock
Besides the Organ Pipes, there are two other rock formations to view at the park. The Rosette Rock is a circular rock with a radial pattern that looks like the spokes of a wheel.
Tessellated Pavement
The Tessellated Pavement is a rock formation that resembles a set of mosaic. They are the top of basalt columns that have been revealed by Jackson Creek.
In addition to the walking trails, there are also several picnic areas and BBQ facilities throughout the park, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a family outing.
The park is also a popular destination for birdwatchers, as it is home to a wide variety of bird species.
