Gretna Lake Beach – Lebanon County
Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach is a family owned and operated beach that open to the public for a fee. The eight acres of beach in South Central Pennsylvania is next to Lake Conewago and offers a relaxed atmosphere.
There is a kids’ dock where children can play, along with a sand beach. Other amenities include sand volleyball, diving board and high dive tower. Don’t miss the Big Chair – a cool photo spot. Bald Eagle State Park Beach – Sayers Dam Beach
Bald Eagle State Park is a 5,900 acre park in north-central Pennsylvania. Within the park is the Sayers Dam Beach. Besides the swimming area, other amenities that you will find at Bald Eagle State Park Beach include picnic areas and a children’s playground. When you get tired of lazing by the water, also try one of the different trails that run through Bald Eagle State Park.
Kohler Beach – Erie
Kohler Beach is one of several within the Presque Isle State Park, a peninsula that can be found in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania. With shores that are washed by Lake Erie’s waters, the sandy shores of Preque Isle State Park’s 13 beaches provide unspoiled beauty for those wish to have a dose of nature.
Kohler Beach or Beach #11 is the most sheltered of the beaches at Presque Isle State Park. It is protected by Gull Point. It has shallow water and a changing areas as well as a food for sale. A picnic pavilion and playground make it especially popular with families.

Waterworks Beach
Staying on Presque Isle State Park, Beach #7 or Waterworks Beach is also popular with families. The area was originally a source for freshwater, and hence its name. Nowadays, there is a playground with a pyramid style climbing frame and a tower, as well as an accessible beach with a wheelchair ramp that goes down to the edge of the water. Loaner beach wheelchairs are also available.
Mauch Chunk Lake Park Beach
Mauch Chunk Lake is a lovely place to spend the day. The County Park has excellent picnic areas and a lovely lake. The bathroom area is also extremely clean. Also a nice food stand, but somewhat expensive. There is an entry fee. You can enjoy clear, sandy beaches and stunning woodland scenery. The beach is open from 11 am to 7 pm on certain months of the year and swimming is only permitted when there are lifeguards on duty.

Palmyra Township Public Beach
Palmyra Township Public Beach is the only public beach on Lake Wallenpaupack. Additionally, it’s the only area of the lake where swimming is permitted. This beach is an ideal family vacation spot because it has many picnic areas and lovely waterfront views. From the park’s access points, beachgoers can swim in this lake’s serene waters while basking in the sun on its sandy shores.
Poe Valley State Park Beach
Found in a rugged mountain valley at Centre Country, the Poe Valley State Park hides a less well known beach. During the summer months, there is a swimming area at the 25-acre Poe Lake. In addition to the sandy beach, there is also a children’s playground where kids can have some fun. Paddle boats and kayaks are also available for rent. There are also hiking trails around Poe Valley State Park. Just take note that there are no lifeguards at this Pennsylvania beach – so swim at your own risk.
Black Moshannon State Park Beach
In Rush Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania, there is the 3,480-acre (1,410 ha) Black Moshannon State Park. The park’s Black Moshannon Lake was created by the damming of Black Moshannon Creek. Black Moshannon State Park has an extensive network of trails that allow for year-round recreation, including hiking, biking, and viewing the bog habitat at the Black Moshannon State Natural Area. The sandy beach on Black Moshannon Lake is accessible from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. However, there are no lifeguards stationed at the beach.
