What’s at the Alice Kornegay Triangle
Found along Harlem River Drive, the Alice Kornegay Triangle was created on the west bank of the Harlem River.
The play area features an assortment of play structures that promise plenty of fun for children. Kids can race down the slides and kick up into the skies on the swings.
On hot days, kids can also cool off in the water spray area where a water fountain creates a refreshing haven of respite in the summer.
The Alice Kornegay Triangle Playground’s opening hours are from 7 am to 6 pm (Nov. 1 to March 1), and 7 am to 9 pm (March 2 to Oct. 31).

Who is Alice Kornegay Triangle Named After?
For more than 35 years, Alice Wragg Kornegay (1932–1996) was a trailblazing community advocate in East Harlem. She was born in Georgetown, South Carolina, and moved to East Harlem when she was ten years old to live with her cousins after her parents passed away.
She also was a member of Community Board 11, Community School Board 5, the 25th Precinct Community Council, and the Harlem Commonwealth Council. Alice Wragg Kornegay died in 1996.
