Bella Abzug Park is located at Hudson Boulevard between West 37 Street and West 33 Street in Manhattan, New York City. It is within view of the the Vessel at Hudson Yards.
The park is part of greenway that extends for six blocks in Hell’s Kitchen and includes a children’s playground as well as sitting areas.
What’s at Bella Abzug Park
Bella Abzug Park can be found just north of Hudson Yards and the Vessel. It is also just a block away from the world famous Russ & Daughters.
It was originally called Hudson Yards Park but was renamed Bella Abzug Park in 2019.
The park is three blocks long, 2.15 acres and rectangular in shape. It features three colorful water fountains at the center. These make use of technology to detect wind speeds and can turn off during strong winds.
There are also small plazas and numerous seating areas with long wooden benches for visitors to stop for a rest. Another way to enjoy the park is to pack a sandwich and enjoy eating it in the outdoors. There are some tables available within Bella Abzug Park.
You will also find food carts within the park. YOu can pick up a burger or a taco from these food stalls to enjoy in the park.

Bella Abzug Park Playground
Bella Abzug Park playground is a play area for kids. While not very large, it does have a dome rope climbing feature that kids can use to expend some energy. At the centre of the rope dome there are also ladders that they can use to climb up and down the dome and rope hammocks that kids can climb into.
Beside the dome, there is also a padded mound that kids can find some simple enjoyment playing on.
You can even find programs for kids organised with Bella Abzug Park. These free events have included kids concerts, bubble shows and kids fitness classes.
It also hosts Movies under the Stars, free movie screenings.
The park was designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc.
Who is Bella Abzug Park Named For?
The park is named after Bella Abzug (1920 -1998) who was a feminist, civil rights activist, lawyer, and U.S. Representative who was a staunch supporter of civil liberties. She served three terms in Congress and continued her work for social justice even after she left Congress.
