Bird Paradise is a new attraction in Singapore. It takes over from the old Jurong Bird Park that close at the end of 2022.
Bird Paradise in Singapore
The new Bird Paradise is located in Mandai, close to the other wildlife attractions in Singapore such as the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.
Bird Paradise is a celebration of birds and their stories, and will be home to some of the world’s most threatened species – from Philippine Eagles and Negros Bleeding-heart Doves, to Straw-headed Bulbuls, Black-winged Mynas and Blue-throated Macaws.
One of the species at Bird Paradise, the Socorro Dove, is in fact extinct in the wild, and only survives because of the breeding efforts undertaken by the Mandai Wildlife Group and other conservation-minded institutions.
Another highlight at Bird Paradise is the chance to see the world’s largest population of Hornbills under human care, many of them flying free in some of the eight large walk-through aviaries, which are inspired by different habitats from around the globe.
Walk In Aviaries at Bird Paradise in Singapore
The various walk in aviaries provide a chance for visitors to experience walking amongst the birds, almost as if they are on an outdoor bird watching expedition.
At Sky Amphitheatre, located at the far end of Bird Paradise, two new avian presentations will take flight – Predators on Wings and Wings of the World. They are based on a new format and content, while retaining some of the favourite elements from the previous Kings of the Skies and High Flyers presentations at Jurong Bird Park.
There is also a new area with restaurants and dining just outside of the Bird Paradise entrance.
Called Mandai Wildlife West, it is publicly accessible and features play areas for families and children.
