Global Scavenger Hunt 2023: Go On A World Travel Championship

The dates for The Global Scavenger Hunt 2023 have been set. This is the 16th annual “world travel championship”—an around-the-world travel adventure competition that takes two-person teams on A Blind Date with The World  that crowns The World’s Greatest Travelers.

The Global Scavenger Hunt 2023

The Global Scavenger Hunt 2023 event will take place over three weeks between the 14 of April and the 6 of May 2023. The race will see 15 international teams traveling from Vancouver, Canada to New York City—the long way around!

The Global Scavenger Hunt 2023 is open to all worthy international travelers but will be limited to 15 two-person teams. Past editions have drawn some of the world’s best travelers from: the USA, Canada, China, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia, England, Poland, Germany, Dubai & Barbados.

The winners will be crowned The World’s Greatest Travelers and earn a free trip around-the-world to defend their titles in the next event. It is a winner-take-all event.

The hunt will involve a circumnavigation of the globe, touching down in at least ten secret countries. Thse may include Peru, Colombia, Indonesia, Laos, Oman, Tanzania, Russia, Morocco and Italy. However, participants will not know which country they will be visiting next until given a 4-Hour Notice.

Why the Hunt?

Teams participate for glory, bragging rights, and to help raise funds for ongoing humanitarian causes.

Past events have funded thirteen co-ed elementary schools in Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Kenya, India, Niger, Haiti, Ethiopia, and Ecuador, and bettered the lives of over 3,500 households with interest-free microloans. Organizations supported by the event include, among others: Doctors without Borders, Partners in Health, Free the Children and KIVA.

The Global Scavenger Hunt 2023

Teams can apply online and interviewed for suitability. The $28,000 per team entry fee includes all international airfare, First Class hotel accommodations, 40% of meals, and special sponsor-supplied event travel gear.
