One of the best things about South Korea’s capital is its cute and aesthetic cafes. Rami Scone Cafe Seoul is one such place but it is also more as it is a cafe that prides itself in serving up 100% whole grain bakes.
We came across Rami Scone Cafe in Seoul while exploring the trendy Ikseondong neighbourhood, not far from Insadong. The neighbourhood is well known for its aesthetic cafes and eateries such as the popular Cheong Su Dang cafe.
Rami Scone Cafe Seoul in Ikseondong is located just a stone’s throw away and around the corner from Cheong Su Dang.
Located within a quaint Hanok or tradition Korean house, the bakery-cafe is flooded with natural sunlight. This makes it a welcoming and inviting place that beckoned us in.
Rami Scone Cafe Seoul: Whole-Grain Bakes for the Health Conscious Dessert-Lover
Rami Scone Cafe Seoul started off as an online 100% whole-grain bakery back in 2011. This was at a time when bakeries focused on healthy whole-grain bakes were hard to find.
It first gained popularity with athletes who were looking for healthy alternatives to white flour and refined sugars.
In 2018, it opened its first cafe. This was, of course, based on 100% unrefined whole grains and offered a variety of scones, cookies, vegan products, gluten-free and no-wheat flour souffle cakes.
The slogan of the cafe was “No White Wheat, No White Rice Flour, No Refined Sugar”.
This made it a popular spot for health-conscious people look for healthier yet delicious desserts.
From its first branch, it expanded to a second branch and the Ikseon branch opened in 2020 with another at Cheongdam opening in 2021. It even has its own blend of coffee that has received rave reviews.
Rami Scone Cafe Seoul Food & Drinks
There are plenty of delicious bakes at Rami Scone Cafe.
Scones make up a big part of the menu and you can pick up some freshly baked scones from a scone box before taking them to the counter to pay for them. They are flatter than typical English scones.
Besides classic scones, other enticing flavours include Black Sesame Pecan and MochaWalnut. Or try the Double Kakao, Milk Tea or Matcha Chocolate.
If you are feeling like having a savoury version, try the Olive Cheese.
It makes sense to complement the scones with a nice beverage.
The Rami blend, made with coffee beans from Guatemala, Brazil and India. Have it straight, as a latte or even a Butterscotch Latte.
Teas are also available. The Rami Milk Tea is made without the use of processed power.
Rami Scone Cafe is a great place to sit down for a while and enjoy some healthy dessert in beautiful surroundings. We loved the wooden aesthetic found at the Ikseondong neighbourhood location.
It is a great spot to slow down and pause for a moment to soak in the vibes of the neighbourhood.
