Ungteori Korea BBQ specializes in pork table barbecue. You won’t find other meats like beef here but it is the place for pork-lovers to get some sizzling meats into their belly.
The chain has multiple outlets and can be found in popular neighborhoods in Seoul like Myeongdong. We visited the Ungteori Korea BBQ in Hongdae and it was such as satisfying experience.
The outlet in Hongdae is located on the second floor and faces out towards the popular pedestrian street of Eoulmadang-ro, not far from the Hongdae subway station.
You may be wondering how to ascend up to the second floor and pork bbq heaven. For that, you will have to go to the side street where there is a stairway leading up to the second floor.
When we visited Ungteori Korea BBQ, the restaurant was bustling. It was a mix of young people, what looked like students from the nearby university and office workers.
Endless Pork Korea BBQ
We settled down at the table where a table barbecue grill with a pot of broth, and an aluminium foil container of oil were waiting for us.
The all you can eat pork barbecue only has two cuts of meat. One looks like pork shoulder while the other is fatty pork belly.
Head over the chilled section to fill your plate with the slabs of meat. It is quantity over quality, but once you grill it and dip it into some samjang, it tastes great!
You can also help yourself to lettuce, cabbage, garlic, kimchi and tofu.
Samjang, wasabi and salt are available as condiments.
Throw the meats on to the grill and wait patiently for them to cook and brown.
Use the pair of cooking scissors that are provided at the table to cut them up into bite sized portions.
Once ready, wrap them up in the lettuce to create a sam and eat it all in one go.
Rice is also available at additional cost.
As it is an all you can eat pork bbq, you can repeat and keep going until you’re full.
There is also a pot where you can top up the soup at the centre of the grill.
And how much did the all you can eat pork Korea bbq come to? It was just 14,800 won per person! Amazing value!
Do take note that the prices may be different at different locations.
